Team Captains:

You are required to post in your Match Communications panel every week. If your schedule is up, go post in Match Comms now about how eager you are to kill your opponent.
Use the Match Comms to coordinate the match date, time, map and server.
If team captains cannot agree on a fun map then the default map must be played.
The Team Captain of the winning team reports the match score as soon as the match is over.

KOTH_RULES:

Scoring: The winning team is the first to reach 4 TOTAL capture points. The match is played in two match-rounds. The first round plays until a team reaches 3 capture points. The second round is played until a team reaches 4 TOTAL cap points(including caps from first match-round).
Overtime: If teams are tied (for example, 3-0, 0-3) after 2 rounds, play a 3rd round where the first cap wins.

Server Operators:

Authenticate to your server with rcon_password ( rcon_password p455w0rd )
Execute ugc_HL_koth.cfg from the command line ( rcon exec ugc_HL_koth.cfg )
Reload the map. This is necessary for Source TV to start recording ( rcon changelevel kotch_pro_viaduct_rc3 ) for EVERY player already on the server.
2nd Half: RELOAD THE MAP at the start of the second half, this will start a clean logfile and demo for the second half.
Match Over: exec ugc_off.cfg, to stop STV recoring, to end the logfile and to reset your server to it's normal default server cfg at map change with normal server Settings.

SV_PURE - Server operators, since the last major Source update, sv_pure can only be set in the command line and not in configs. You need the "-sv_pure" command put in your Startup Commands by your provider, or by a web control panel. I've talked to NFO and they have an option in the control panel section. Gameservers, you may have to submit a support ticket to have your server run with "sv_pure" enabled. Only then will "sv_pure 2" work with our configs. I'll state this again, but in orange: you must contact your server provider and make sure "-sv_pure" is set in the Startup Commands for your server.

Scheduling a UGC server: Slots fill up quick so make sure you request a server soon if you need one. Please reference the following article (http://www.ugcleague.com/forum/content.php?148-Guide-to-requesting-a-UGC-server-for-a-match) on how to request a server.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns feel free to post about them here, contact us in IRC (http://widget.mibbit.com/?settings=46a4e55361662c03a2687439bf314943&server=webirc.gamesurge.net%3A6007&channel=%23ugc-tf2&noServerTab=false&autoConnect=true) or send us an email through the support page (http://www.ugcleague.com/support_tf2h.cfm).

KOTH Resources:
I was "gently" reminded that I am under legal obligation to mention Hein's strategy guides or I won't be getting a Valve Community Weapon. Be sure to check out Hein's articles on KoTH Basics (http://www.ugcleague.com/forum/content.php?151-Heinsight-Strategy-KOTH-Basics) and koth_pro_viaduct_handsome_rc3 (http://www.ugcleague.com/forum/content.php?120-Strategy). No, seriously. Hein's articles are a great resource for new-to-experienced players. The dude is a walking TF2 encyclopedia (and cover model for "Handsome Magazine").

I also remembered a really helpful video from our friend frostf1r3 on Reddit for making this Introduction to Competitive TF2: Communities & Looking for Teams/Players - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCm9TX_A0oY

Thanks Frostf1r3!

Another tip I wanted to touch on is, if your team loses by a big margin, why not ask your opponent for some tips? Either you learn some helpful information, or learn your opponent is a poor sport! So be brave and ask for tips while on the battlefield!

Clarified some Server Ops steps and info on sv_pure.
