There has been some discussion on the forum today about a new version of koth_ramjam coming out 6 days before we were set to play it. Please read below for our official position on the new release.

The release today changed the following:

-Capture time reduced to 16 seconds at x1 (originally 24)
-All known building zone glitches fixed; this includes shutter spawns and the shutters in lobby, all of which allowed for teles to be completely safe behind the shutter, as well as mini sentries that can be placed INSIDE the shutter, not take damage, yet be able to hit things outside of the shutter.



What version of koth_ramjam will be used for Week 6? - koth_ramjam_b8b is considered the default map for Week 6. Teams cannot be forced to play the version (b9).

Can teams agree to play the new version (b9) that was released today? - Yes, but this agreement must be in writing in the Match Comms panel. The new version can be downloaded at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lvf353r3l6ljbmj/koth_ramjam_b9.zip?dl=0

We can't find a server with either version b8b or b9 loaded on it, what should we do? - We have gotten a lot of reports from European, Asian, South American and Australian teams that servers in these regions still only have the original map version (b8) on them. If you are are in one of these regions and you absolutely cannot find a server with version b8b or b9 then you are permitted to play version b8 instead. We understand that getting maps updated on servers you don't own can be hard to do on such short notice and we do not want to penalize you for not being able to find a server with the correct version. That said, all UGC servers will have all 3 versions of the map uploaded to them before the match day.

Please note:
If version b8 or b8b is played in your match, the following glitch (http://www.ugcleague.com/forum/showthread.php?26757-koth_ramjam_b8&p=163806&viewfull=1#post163806) is not allowed.

If version b8 is played in your match, abusing the following glitched walls (http://www.ugcleague.com/forum/showthread.php?26757-koth_ramjam_b8&p=160460&viewfull=1#post160460) is not allowed (for explosive projectile splash).

If you catch your opponent using either of these glitches please advise them that it is not allowed. If they continue to use this glitch please pause the match and contact your Division Manager (http://www.ugcleague.com/staff.cfm) immediately or come to our Live Support (http://www.ugcleague.com/chat_support_tf2h.cfm) chat room.

Why did UGC decide to make version b8b the default version instead of the new one? - In short, timing. Had we received this new version a few weeks ago we would have made it the official version. We do not like changing out the map this close to the match day. You have to understand, outside of NA, more than 80% of teams do not pay for their own servers. Instead they borrow servers for matches from server farms, other leagues and other server hosting companies. Teams themselves are not in control over the content uploaded to these servers. We have a difficult enough time ensuring that our configs and whitelist are uploaded on all of these servers let alone a last minute map change. As I eluded to in the prior Q&A, many servers outside of NA don't even have version b8b on them yet.

Teams are encouraged to play the new version if they can. Provided you can find a server running version b9 and all 18 players have successfully downloaded the map.
